Hi! I'm Jessica! I'm a pediatric sleep consultant supporting families with their little ones 0-5 years old.
Why I wanted to become a Pediatric Sleep Consultant:
I had my first son May 2020 and we found ourselves at the start of the pandemic, in a lockdown, and no help at all with this new baby. We quickly learned that sleep deprivation was not our thing and we were just not enjoying parenthood. Through LOTS of research we slowly started to instill good sleep habits and around 4 months of age we did more formal sleep training. At this point, my oldest was easily sleeping 7pm to 7am and falling asleep independently at night and for naps. It was life changing for myself and for my relationship with my husband. We could enjoy our nights together and the whole family was happier. My son truly became the Best Little Sleeper. Today he is a 2 year old who still loves sleep. He will ask us to put him down for a nap or bedtime and is happy throughout the whole routine. Enjoying bedtime routine brings me so much joy each night.
We welcomed baby #2 in January 2022 at 34 weeks. This was a whole different experience having a premature baby and I felt like I was back to square one on understanding sleep and having expectations for what was going to be normal for him. After our month long stint in the NICU we came home and I immediately instilled really solid sleep habits and routines. I also constantly reminded myself of his adjusted age to give him grace with what I expected him to do or pushed him to do. Through this approach he actually never needed any formal sleep training. By 12 weeks old, he was sleeping 11-12 hours at night constantly. He was naturally the Best Little Sleeper! Throughout these two vastly different experiences I had developed such a love for sleep 'training' and found myself constantly helping friends and family.
I'm so grateful for my two Best Little Sleepers and see the impact good sleep has to their development, their mood, and our family happiness and I want to help provide this to more families. I truly look forward to helping parents and their little ones throughout their sleep journey.
